G. WENDELL THOMAS, JR. has developed a practice focused on real estate lending, real estate development, governmental entities and commercial litigation. For substantially all of his legal career, Mr. Thomas has represented numerous lenders, borrowers and non-profit corporations in closing the financing of FHA-insured multifamily projects and projects for the elderly and handicapped under HUD’s Section 202 and Section 811 loan and grant programs. In addition to representing HUD related lenders and borrowers, Mr. Thomas has represented a number of lenders, real estate developers and other business entities during his career. Projects on which Mr. Thomas have provided legal assistance include apartments, office buildings, shopping center and other commercial developments and various operating retail businesses. The principle focus of Mr. Thomas’ work for governmental clients has been with housing authorities in and around the Knoxville, Tennessee, area. The services provided by Mr. Thomas for his governmental clients have included real estate acquisition and financing, purchasing and procurement advice, condemnations, litigation and other general advice and representation. Mr. Thomas handles commercial litigation for his real estate and governmental clients.
