ROBERT H. GREEN

ROBERT H. GREEN is a civil litigator at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. He was a licensed professional engineer (Tennessee State Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners Certificate No. 008614 from 1972 to 1998) with degrees from Iowa State University in Engineering Operations (B.S. 1965) and the University of Iowa in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E. 1966). After working as an engineer for a major corporation, Mr. Green attended The University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D. 1975). He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Knoxville, Tennessee, the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Defense Lawyers, the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, and was a founding member (and member of the executive committee) of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel. Mr. Green has been active in complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels in areas of commercial, construction, corporate, products liability, and insurance defense litigation. He is an arbitrator and mediator on the National Panel of Construction and Commercial Arbitrators and Mediators of the American Arbitration Association, a member of DART (Dispute Avoidance and Resolution Task Force), a certified mediator in the Federal Mediation Program of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and certified under Supreme Court Rule 31 as a mediator in Tennessee state courts. Mr. Green has also been appointed to serve on the American Arbitration Association’s Tennessee Construction Advisory Council (3 year term).

Mr. Green concentrates his practice in the areas of construction and commercial litigation, arbitrations, and mediations. His experience includes representing parties to the construction process and acting as arbitrator and member of arbitration panels (frequently as Chairman) for resolution of claims ranging from a few thousand to millions of dollars involving construction and/or renovation of multi-family housing, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing facilities, etc. He has served as mediator for resolution of many disputes ranging from home construction to mining precious metals in South America.
